Aston Villa fans will quickly want to forget about the 4-0 defeat to Leicester, but some fans have been reflecting on the match and taken a more balanced approach to their analysis.
That has led to a more constructive view of the performance, and while fan criticism will still persist after such a game, with Frederic Guilbert the chief target, some have been praising the display of Marvelous Nakamba.
Dean Smith has often rotated his midfield options without success this season, meaning the 26-year-old has only made 18 league starts, but he did reasonably well against the Foxes with two tackles and interceptions and 81% pass accuracy, per WhoScored.
Some felt he was the main positive to take from the game, and certainly outperformed his midfield partners, with one fan taking aim at Douglas Luiz.
Despite that, Nakamba and his teammates will all need to show a drastic improvement if they are to survive, particularly as their next four matches are against teams who are all currently placed in the top six.
The Zimbabwe international did display hard work and determination, though, and they are crucial attributes to any team scrapping at the bottom, and Smith should continue picking him as a result.

If Nakamba’s attitude is reflected by the entire squad then Villa fans will likely be pleased by the effort on show, particularly as it should lead to points being won and an end to their five-game losing streak.
