Battlefield 6 Pre-Load Date and Time Revealed

Battlefield 6 publisher EA has officially revealed the date and time at which fans will be able to pre-load the shooter. After four years of no new entry in the series, Battlefield 6 will finally release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 10, but those who have already pre-ordered the title on their respective platform will be able to pre-load the game data from October 3.

In 2021, Battlefield 2042 launched to mostly negative reviews from players. Although the shooter received a mixed response from critics, it quickly became one of the most poorly received entries in the franchise. As such, Battlefield fans have been patiently waiting to see if EA and DICE could come back bigger and better. Thankfully, the two studios returned to the drawing board and are seemingly aiming to give fans one of the best entries yet with Battlefield 6. The game’s open beta weekends last month received huge praise from players, and even became the biggest playtest in Battlefield history, surpassing Call of Duty‘s concurrent player count record on Steam.

Battlefield 6 Pre-Load Begins October 3

With the release of Battlefield 6 now less than two weeks away, many fans eager to jump in have been wondering when they’ll be able to pre-load the game on their respective platforms. The date and time for Battlefield 6‘s pre-load have now been confirmed as Friday, October 3, at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST, as spotted by a user on Reddit. This date and time will apply to anybody who has already pre-ordered either the Standard Edition or Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Pre-loading the game will allow players to jump in as soon as the title is launched on October 10.

Unfortunately, it looks like Battlefield 6‘s highly anticipated Battle Royale mode likely won’t be included in the pre-load next week, as a recent rumor suggests the mode won’t be available at launch. However, the good news is that a reputable industry insider claims that EA and DICE are planning to release the mode on October 28, which means players will only need to wait a little less than 3 weeks before they can check it out. Although official details are still unknown, rumors suggest the mode will also be free-to-play, similar to Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone.

With the pre-load date now confirmed, fans will also need to know how much storage space they need available on their platform of choice. Unlike other big AAA titles, Battlefield 6 will only need between 55 and 80 GB of space. The size will vary as EA is taking a leaf out of Call of Duty‘s book and allowing players to choose which content they want to install on their console or PC. For example, those who have no interest in the game’s single-player campaign will be able to uninstall it and only have the multiplayer downloaded.
